Puppy love is deadly serious in Alan Shapiro’s The Crush (1993). The film that helped jumpstart the career of teen queen Alicia Silverstone;the attractive actress made her film debut as Darian, a youngster who grows increasingly infatuated with the reporter (Cary Elwes) who rents her family’s villa. Instead of taking the confidence boost but brushing off the youngster, the 28 year old journalist leads on the single-minded teen until she’s unable to shake her obsession. But Darian's a Lolita with a mean streak. Once scorned, Darian start threatening his age appropriate girlfriend Amy (Jennifer Rubin) before unleashing a nest full of wasps on her. She defaces Nick's car, and creates a horseback riding accident to make sure a friend (Amber Benson) doesn't tell him any of her secrets, and even goes to the law with a story claiming Nick did what we're sure he really, really wanted to do, but never actually did. With his life in ruins and his reputation shattered, Nick has to find a way to clear his name and keep the crazy teen girl from getting any more violent revenge. Alicia absolutely crushed her role as the psycho but so sexy teen, but didn't actually do any nudity. That doesn't mean there's nothing to jail-bate to, though. We see the gorgeous blonde's incredible body in various bikinis and bathing suits, including one scene where she teasingly pulls down a blue bikini to unveil even more cleavage. But outside of a blink any you miss tit nip slip as she rolls around in a pink one piece, the nudity, including a shot of her ass as she undresses while Nick hides in the closet, were the work of a double. We know, we were crushed when we found out, too.
