Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's cover one of the coolest subgenres: Tech noir.
What is tech noir? It is a hybrid genre that was coined by James Cameron in Terminator. He literally named the nightclub in the movie Tech Noir, but as a genre, it combines film noir with science fiction. There are a lot of film noir elements, including in the cinematography, as well as sci-fi devices in the plot.
While Tech Noir films can technically be traced to the 50s and 60s with films like Godard's Alphaville and extend to modern times with movies like Ghost in a Shell, the majority of the hottest and most famous tech noir films were made in the 1980s.
Here are some tech noir films that sexy scenes that we highly recommend:
Blade Runner
Ridley Scott's Blade Runner is one of the most famous tech noir films. It takes place in a dystopian Los Angeles in the year...2019. Sure, that was only two years ago, but when this film was made in 1982 it felt like a long time away. A retired Blade Runner in this LA nightmare must go track down a group of replicants who stole a ship in space to come back to Earth in order to meet their creator.
Replicants, in this society, are androids that were made to help human life, but some of them have a mind of their own. Isn't that always the way with these kinds of stories? Based on the Philip K. Dick story "Do Androids Dream of Electic Sheep?", Blade Runner is still one of the best sci-fi films ever made. The actresses in the movie will have you wondering if it is possible for humans to be this hot. Is Joanna Cassidy a real woman acting her role or is she actually an android made to turn human viewers on?
I'm kidding, of course. I know Joanna is a human actress (...or do I?). So is Sean Young in her fantastic see-thru bra. I don't know what androids dream about, but I dream about these babes.
The Terminator
James Cameron's The Terminator started it all! This 1984 sci-fi film was a major success and had everyone saying "I'll Be Back" and for decades after.
We never wanted to say "hasta la vista" to star Linda Hamilton after watching her breasts pop out in her sex scene when she was on top. Watch her perky pair press again her lover's! It was a delight to see Linda all grown up and getting her tiddies out in the hottest sci-fi film of the decade.
Brazil
Terry Gilliam's Brazil remains as wild and visually stunning today as it was in 1985. This total masterpiece stars Jonathan Pryce as a technocrat in a futuristic society that is unnamed, but it feels like it could be any place. He dreams of being more than just a cog in a machine for this powerful techno-bureaucracy that controls the workers' lives. He dreams instead of leaving everything behind to be with the woman of his dreams played by Kim Greist.
Kim Greist was absolutely angelic in her sexy scenes, including one where she wears a see-thru robe that shows her bright pink nipples. No wonder this guy wants to leave everything behind to be with her! She's a knockout!
Things get hairy when the bureaucracy comes after him, accusing him of being responsible for a series of terrorist attacks. Now he and his lady love are on the run to save their lives! But before they do that, Kim goes naked one more time.

Dark City
1998's Dark City is not as well known as the other films on this list, but it should be because it is HOT. Alex Proyas directed this dark exploration of memory. A man wakes up alone in a strange place and suddenly struggles with his memories. He can't remember anything and he is wanted for murders that he truly can't remember committing. He also has memories of a woman who is supposed to be his wife, but he doesn't actually know who she is. What is this world and who is this woman? That's what Dark City explores! It also explores some sexy babes.
One thing that you will never forget is actress Melissa George. The plot of this film gets crazy, but you won't care because you'll just be crazy for Melissa's rackage.
There is also a non-nude scene from Jennifer Connelly that is fairly hot despite not showing us any skin. Jennifer looks skintastic in her black bra and matching panties in this guy's hazy memory. You will definitely want to remember this:
