Big eyes flashing with the pleading of a doe, sinewy flesh coiling and striking with the grace of a serpent, brunette Rachel Ward is a heartbreaker. Although the intense, deeply erotic Englishwoman is stunning to the eyes in a wide range of roles, her thin limbs and large, devil-given breasts are used to best effect in the portrayal of the femme fatale. Rachel is always a danger to the screen, scorching the celluloid even in such seemingly innocuous fare as the early Steve Martin vehicle Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982). When she actually drops her top or lifts her sexquisite bum to the footlights, prepare to become a lost cause. Abandon all resistance, ye who enter Night School (1981) or wager to remain complacent Against All Odds (1984).
