One of Us Is Lying (2021-2022)

Based on the New York Times best selling novel of the same name by Karen M. McManus, One of Us is Lying premiered on the Peacock streaming service in the fall of 2021. The high school set series uses the same five student stereotypes as John Hughes' The Breakfast Club (1985) for its five main characters: Bronwyn (Marianly Tejeda) is The Brain, Nate (Cooper van Grootel) is The Criminal, Addy (Annalisa Cochrane) is The Princess, Cooper (Chibuikem Uche) is The Jock, and Simon (Mark McKenna from the hugely underrated flick Sing Street) is The Basket Case, having created a Gossip Girl style online blog that dishes on all the hot gossip at their school. All five students run in different circles but all end up together in detention where Simon suddenly drops dead from a severe allergic reaction. In a move straight out of an Agatha Christie novel, all four of the other students have solid motives for wanting to see Simon dead, thanks of course to his online blog that he was running with his best friend Janae (Jessica McLeod). When it is determined that Simon's death was not accidental, the four of them become the prime suspects and an investigation ensues that is sure to expose more deep dark secrets than any of them are comfortable letting see the light of day! The series didn't get off to a very skinsational start, but fans of high school girls in bikinis are going to love seeing series star Annalisa Cochrane in a bikini alongside co-stars Zenia Marshall and Sara Thompson in the debut episode! None of Us are Lying when we say this show's got major potential!
