Every teen has thought to themselves, "If only we had some place to party where we'd be safe and not have to worry about adults or cops or teachers." That makes the premise of the upcoming thriller Ma more interesting than the average horror flick.
Octavia Spencer plays a lonely woman who takes pity on some teens after buying them booze, and decides to let them party at her house provided they follow a couple of ground rules:One of the kids has to stay sober. Don’t curse. Never go upstairs. And call her “Ma.”This being a horror film, it isn't long before they realize that this is a game and they are merely pawns in it.
Ma comes to us from Blumhouse, the horror house behind Get Out, Happy Death Day, and the Insidious franchise, and is directed by Tate Taylor the man behind the decidedly un-scary movies The Help and Get On Up, as well as the better than expected 2016 adaptation of The Girl on the Train. Spencer is a very good actress, though, and is sure to elevate this material.
The supporting cast for this film is also aces with such beauties as Juliette Lewis, Allison Janney, and Missi Pyle, along with relative newcomers Diana Silvers and McKaley Miller. No word on whether this will have any skin, but you can check out Juliette, Allison, and Missi topless below! Ma opens in theaters everywhere on May 31.
