Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Esquivel—whose husband Alfonso Arau (aka El Guapo) directed a film adaptation in 1992—Like Water for Chocolate is a 2024 MAX miniseries adaptation of the epic tale of love and family. Tita de la Garza (Azul Guaita) only feels alive when she's in the kitchen cooking, or when she's with her one true love Pedro (Mauricio García Lozano), whom her family has forbidden her from marrying because as the youngest daughter, Tita must care for her mother Elena (Irene Azuela) until she dies. Therefore, Pedro marries Tita's older sister Rosaura (Ana Valeria Becerril), though his love for Tita never dies! This is a spicy love story so we're expecting lots of skin and the debut episode delivers with terrific T'n'A from Irene Azuela as she gets into a tub and bathes!
