Today's director for our female filmmaker series is such an obvious choice that I am shocked I didn't already highlight her. What was I thinking?! Let's take a good look at the life and career of Martha Coolidge and the sexy nude scenes that she has directed.
Martha Coolidge grew up on the East Coast having been born in Connecticut and then going to the well-respected Rhode Island School of Design. She went there for illustrations, but she followed her heart and changed her focus to film. After that, she went to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts to get her MFA in film. That experience gave her a taste for a lot of different kinds of art which is what Coolidge is best known for. She has done TV movies, teen comedies, romantic films, biopics, TV shows, children's movies, and hot nude scenes. Let's get into it!
Something that she is best known for is discovering young actors. She has been credited with giving actors like Nicolas Cage, Val Kilmer, and even James Gandolfini early leading roles in their careers.
Her first feature was a little-known and hard-to-find flick called Not a Pretty Picture in 1976. She made several short flicks, but she had her big break in the early 80s in which she directed Cage. Valley Girl was released in 1983 and it was Coolidge's first major movie. It starred a lot of young hotties with phenomenal bodies like Elizabeth Daily. She also directed James Gandolfini opposite Geena Davis in an unconventional love story called Angie. This 1994 film featured a body double for Davis to play a pregnant woman toweling off after having a shower.
Coolidge tried her hand at a biopic in a made-for-TV film called Introducing Dorothy Dandridge starring Halle Berry as the TITular Dorothy Dandridge. If you weren't already aware, Ms. Dandridge herself was a talented actress with a strong libido. We know that due to Halle's portrayal of how hot Dorothy was. We watch Halle flirt with all kinds of men and she even shows her ass. Her ass-out scene is a bit sad as it is due to an overdose of pills in which Berry is laying on her stomach nude and passed out.
