Ted Lasso (2020-2023)

Way back in 2013, SNL star Jason Sudeikis did a commercial where he played a sweet-natured but clueless American football coach hired to coach a British football team and culture clash comedy ensued. Seven years later, the 30-second idea was expanded into a full length series named after the title character Ted Lasso and it became a smash hit for the new Apple TV streaming service! In the series Lasso (Sudeikis) gets an offer to come to England and coach AFC Richmond, a struggling British Premiere League team, after a viral video of him celebrating with his players turned him into an internet sensation. Ted's "aw shucks" demeanor and general lack of knowledge about the differences between what Americans call football and what the rest of the world calls football make him a laughing stock among the press, though the team's new owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) remains steadfast in her belief that Ted can turn around the team's fortunes. Unbeknownst to Ted, Rebecca is actually intentionally setting him up to fail so she can get revenge on her ex-husband who owned his beloved team until she received it in the divorce. Now Ted has to try and turn the team around and actually prove himself to everyone who ever doubted him. The series itself is pretty laden with profanity, so one might be led to believe there's gonna be additional adult content, but sadly that's not really the case. The entire first season was skinless, but the second season premiere in the summer of 2021 did feature a bikini clad Georgia Gagen playing a reality series starlet! If you ask us, Ted needs to Lasso up some more skin this season!
