Road (2002)

Apparently no one in India has seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, because an eloping couple picks up a hitchhiker (with the usual dire consequences) in the Bollywood flick Road (2002). Arvind (Vivek Oberooi) and Lakshmi (Antara Mali) want to get married, but Lakshmi’s gruff police-inspector father won’t allow it. So the duo decides to elope, and being the trusting type stop to help out a stranded motorist on the way. Does the hitchhiker have sinister intentions? Do waiters at Indian joints secretly laugh at Caucasian types who can’t handle their spice? Antara keeps her good parts covered, but she’s beyond sexy dancing in wet, clingy clothes and writhing on satin sheets during the obligatory song-and-dance numbers. She’ll give you Bolly-WOOD!
