Mr. Mayor (2021)

Mr. Mayor (2021) is the sitcom starring Ted Danson that you didn't know you needed, but you do. Fun fact: this show was initially a 30 Rock spinoff with Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy as the main character. Now it's an entirely different show! Ted plays Neil Bremer, a retired Los Angeles entrepreneur, who runs for mayor. To the surprise of nearly everyone in his life, he actually wins! Now this lifelong businessman has to figure out working in politics and running one of the busiest cities in the world. That turns out to not be as easy as he would have hoped. He learns to be patient, diplomatic, and supportive of his citizens and his staff, but both of those things keep him on his toes - as does his teen daughter who has some very strong opinions on the way her dad governs the city. Luckily, there are some very pretty faces to check out in this network sitcom. Vella Lovell played Mikaela Shaw and the always luminous Holly Hunter plays Arpi Meskimen, the political veteran that tries to help him while also keeping him in check. Deputy Arpi is a savvy character who is ambitious, quick-witted, and honest to a fault. Hey, that might as well describe the real Holly Hunter! Another way to describe the real Holly Hunter is by describing her effortless beauty. She does not go nude on the show, but she does wear a silk button-down shirt that shows us her pokies. It must be really cold in city hall!
