Review

The Australian sci-fi thriller Lone Wolf (2021) focuses on idealistic young environmental activists Winnie (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) and her boyfriend Conrad (Josh McConville) who are secretly plotting, along with a group of like minded environmentalists, to disrupt the upcoming G20 environmental summit in Melbourne. Unbeknownst to them, however, the overly paranoid Police Minister (Hugo Weaving) is utilizing all manner of surveillance technology—cross referencing data between security cameras, surveillance footage, illegal phone tapping, and even spying on folks via their computers' webcams—to stop them dead in their tracks. Loosely adapted from Joseph Conrad's 1907 novel The Secret Agent, the film updates the story to the near future by bringing the technology into the 21st century, while also maintaining a healthy dose of big government paranoia which hasn't aged a day in the century plus since the novel was written. When Conrad is captured during a trial run for the operation, the group is at first sufficiently scared out of going through with the mission. However, the crafty Police Minister takes steps to ensure that the group thinks the heat is off of them, setting an elaborate trap for them when they inevitably decide to go forward with their plan. All of this intrigue might leave you looking for, how shall we put this, some release? Unfortunately, there's no nudity to speak of in the flick, though the incredibly sexy Tilda Cobham-Hervey does strip down to her bra and panties on some sexy surveillance footage! While we're obviously against any kind of government overreach, it's hard to deny we wouldn't want to be Big Brother watching her in some of her more intimate moments!
