Libertarias (1996)

Set during the Spanish civil war, Libertarias (1996) tells the story of a nun, Maria, who must flee her convent when the fascists draw near. Finding refuge in a brothel, Maria ultimately teams up with a group of female anarchists bent on changing the social order. These dreams prove illusory, however, when she reaches the front lines.
