Kisses & Caroms (2006)

The owner of a California billiards store can’t decide between two women–-even after having them both at the same time––in the micro-budget indie comedy Kisses & Caroms (2006). With frequent nods in Kevin Smith’s direction and plenty of reviewers comparing this one to Clerks (1994), director Vincent Rocca––himself a real-life billiards-store owner––delivers a DV-shot D.I.Y. comedy about Zack, a pool-loving schlub (Drew Wicks) who’s torn between his girlfriend Jennifer (Nikki Stanzione) and a voluptuous counter girl named Tara (Nicole Rayborn). Filmed for less than 12 grand, the movie follows Zack, the billiards store owner whose girlfriend sets up the threesome with their busty coworker Tara, hoping it'll prove that she's wild enough to be wife material. Taking place almost entirely at the store, the movie's main focus is on the next day at work, where things are pretty uncomfortable. Amidst all sorts of obnoxious and weird customer interactions, Zack has to figure out if the menage proved how much his girlfriend loves him, or if he enjoyed it so much because there was a new, nude woman in his bed. Rocca never became the next Kevin Smith, and didn't appear to really try despite how well received this one was. But he did make good on his billiards-centered premise by coaxing Rayburn and costar Patty Souza into baring their racks for some stick play. Patty's pair show up with a great POV shot as the lonely housewife is railed on the family pool table. Meanwhile, the phenomenal blonde, Nicole Rayburn is so hot you'll need lotion! To deal with the burn, of course. What did you think we meant? When she wakes up after the threesome completely topless. A dude selling pool tables gets two girls who look like that?
