Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022)

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (2022) is the latest film from up and coming director Sophie Hyde, who did the skinsational flick Animals (2019). This film wants to simultaneously shatter a pair of taboos, one about sex work and the other about sex being a great way to love yourself a little bit more after experiencing great loss. 

Playing seven years younger than she was in real life, Emma Thompson stars as Nancy Stokes, a fifty five year old widow who makes up her mind to have some sex again! She hires the titular sex worker, played by biracial Irish actor Daryl McCormack, and has the time of her life for the first time in ages!

Emma does her first nudity in this film since 2003's Imagining Argentina, but she bares so much more than she ever has before here, beginning at the ninety minute mark! Well, technically her first sex scene with Mr. Grande is an hour and five minutes in when he goes down on her, but we first see Emma nude again 90 minutes in when he takes off her shirt, exposing her breasts! They have lots of sex over the next five minutes and it culminates in Emma going full frontal in front of a mirror in a moment of naked introspection!

We have to hand it to Emma, this is a great nude scene at any age, let alone at 62. We think she's a shoo in to win an Anatomy Award for her work here, and we look forward to updating this once she has!
