Bad Candy (2021)

It wouldn't be Halloween without a horror anthology and for 2021, the flick Bad Candy (2021) slots nicely into that spot. Gremlins star Zach Galligan co-stars alongside Corey Taylor, lead vocalist of Slipknot, as radio DJs in the small but seemingly haunted town of New Salem, who bring their listeners a trio of tales designed to put a fright in them on the scariest night of the year. First up is the twisted tale of Kyra (Riley Sutton), a young woman stuck living with her abusive stepfather following the death of her mother. Luckily for Kyra, she lives in New Salem, where she can simply conjure up a magical creature to deal with him in the most brutal way imaginable. Next up is the tale of low life drug dealer Charlie (Ryan Kiser), the kind of guy who never wants the party to end. In fact, he's so desperate to keep the party going that he gives a ring to one of those "For a Good Time Call" numbers scrawled on a bathroom stall. Little does he know the horror he's just sent his own way! Finally there's ride share driver Daryl (Kenneth Trujillo) who is thrown into a moral quandary when a lady of the evening (Tara DiPetrillo) attempts to make a bargain with him if he'll help her get rid of her brutal pimp. While the film is long on chills, it's disappointingly short on spills. We do get some full frontal from nudecomers LaDonna Allison as she runs around a field with a pumpkin on her head, along with some cleavage from sexy nurse Haley Leary, but that's about the extent of Bad Candy's good parts!
