Apex Predators (2021)

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the ocean... There is actually a bunch of stock footage of sharks out there!!! Just kidding, we get the struggle of keeping the budget down while filming a movie and director Dustin Ferguson aka "Roger Corman 2.0" does just that with yet another feature length horror flick, Apex Predators!  This one follows a group of people who basically live at the beach in sunny Los Angeles.  When some developers decide to open a grand new beach resort, the locals are pissed off because their new neighbors are probably going to upset the natural balance of the area with the surfers, beach babes, stoners, and locals who make up the beach.  Things get especially hairy for the locals too when body parts of their friends begin to wash ashore, leaving them to wonder if the sharks are actually becoming more and more violent because of the new construction going on around the reef!  Originally titled Jaws of Los Angeles, this low budget creature feature is clearly a nod to the greatest shark flick of all time, Jaws (1975), with a developer who doesn't care about people getting eaten, a guy named "Hooper", and plenty of babes getting dragged under the current!  Including the ill-fated topless babes Alana Evans and Selena D. who pop their tops and end up as chum washing ashore!  Also, we get to see the busty and ageless Dawna Lee Heising doing a photoshoot in a one-piece on the beach.  You'll be "chumming the waters" in your wetsuit after seeing the nudity in this one!
