Amor libre (1978)

The high-minded Mexican drama Amor libre (1978) isn’t quite as scandalously hedonistic as its title (“Free Love”) implies, but with Julissa and Alma Muriel in leading roles, you can be certain it isn’t a tea party, either. Julissa and Muriel star as Julia and Julie, likeminded roommates who are also co-proprietresses of a small curio shop. Resisting the incursions of their nosy, disapproving neighbors, the women let their guards down and adopt a decidedly liberal lifestyle. Julissa is the real draw here--the full-figured redhead ambles around her sunny apartment without a stitch of clothing in a number of choice scenes.
