Today's news broke that Universal Studios has bought the rights to Britney Spears' memoir The Woman in Me. Jon M. Chu That means that a Britney Spears biopic is in the works and we have questions. The upcoming biopic is in the very early stages of development, so not much is known about what we have in store for us. Let's ask the important questions about The Woman in Me and if that woman will go nude.
Who will play Britney?
If you remember the brief buzz over the Madonna biopic (RIP), then you might remember how fervently some of those actresses wanted to play the pop princess. There was even a boot camp to train the aspiring Madonnas to sing and dance like her! I imagine that there will be a similar scramble to play Ms. Spears.
Who will say "It's Britney, bitch"? I wonder if the same gaggle of gals who went for Madonna's role will go for hers. Those women included Bebe Rexha, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Florence Pugh, and the eventual casting choice Julia Garner.
I think that a younger actress would be an excellent choice. This is a great role for an up-and-coming star like Ella Hunt who recently went nude in Horizons.
But maybe Britney should play herself? Why not! She knows the role better than anyone.
Will there be nudity?
If you have read Britney's memoir, you know this is possible. Britney is open in the book about her previous relationship with boy band frontman Justin Timberlake. She shared a story about becoming pregnant with Justin's baby and him convincing her to do away with the pregnancy. While that was a shocking story to hear from the former Disney starlet, it also proved that JT and Britney were doing the hanky panky quite a bit.
She had relationships after Justin, too, and those might be seen on camera. She married dancer Kevin Federline, recently married Sam Ashgari, and she had that one Las Vegas marriage that was annulled. All of those lend themselves to a high potential for sexy scenes that could provide some insight into Brit's intimate life.
Has Britney ever gone nude?
Not on purpose, but she has had a few nip slips during her performances and several close calls. Britney did try her hand at acting when she was at the height of her career. Who could ever forget her role in the 2002 film Crossroads? What you still might not realize is that Crossroads was written by the one and only Shonda Rhimes! Shonda didn't write her a nude scene, but Britney did look beautiful.
Britney did let a nip slip during her Las Vegas residency. During one of her performances, she gave the audience a little more than they bargained for when one of her hard nips popped out of her black top. Her black lingerie costume made this moment even sexier because it felt like it was the right thing to happen. She was serving sexiness and we were eating it up!
