Our Staff Picks column takes you back to a time when video stores reigned supreme and the "Staff Picks" section was the place to find out what films were worthy of one's time. Of course, our version of Staff Picks has a decidedly skintillating angle, as we suss out which films from a particular subgenre are the best to find great nudity. This week let's check out drinking movies!
Drinking Movies is not really a genre or anything, but some films have their entire plot revolve around elements of alcohol. Whether drinking is part of the character's general allure or the whole thing takes place at a bar, these are films where alcohol is so central to the movie's mechanics that it is practically another character in the movie.
So who's thirsty? Let's take a look at nudity in drinking movies.
21 Over
This film is entirely focused on a straight A-student whose 21st birthday is the night before his medical school interview. He wants to go home and go to bed early so that he can study for the test that will change the rest of his life, but his friends have other plans.
They go out for a raucous night that includes a scene where everyone goes running and Nikki Phoenix is inexplicably topless. Watch Nikki run! I've heard of Running with the Bulls, but this is Running with the Boobs. You watch her breasts flop here:
Drinking Buddies
Joe Swanberg directed the mumblecore comedy that is set in a brewery in Chicago in which two friends who are "just drinking buddies" start to question if there are secret romantic feelings between the two of them. Or one of them does anyway. Olivia Wilde and starts to go a little coo-coo when her drinking pal gets a girlfriend that he gets serious about.
She starts to drink and self-destruct, trying to sabotage his relationship and hers and theirs. It's a mess! That being said, seeing Olivia Wilde without her top has me feeling all kinds of drunk. This girl has gone Wilde!
Wine Country
And now for men who like mature women, Wine country wowed us all with actress Paula Pell taking her tits out. This was a surprising scene for a couple of reasons: Paula Pell shines in this film and had people wondering where she came from. She's been around! She's been a writer for Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation. Yeah, she's funny and she's behind some of the funniest things in the past 20 years.
So people who are in the know know that she is hilarious. What we didn't know is that she was willing to pop out her pair for the camera. Quick, get Paula more wine and see what else she takes off!
Sideways
More wine? Then Sideways is the movie for you. Sideways was wildly popular in 2004 which might be surprising when you remember the plot is just two middle-aged men going on a tour of wine country. It sounds an awful lot like the actual film Wine Country, doesn't it?
In one scene, Missy Doty bangs her hubby while one of our leading men watches through the closet. She serves up two large nipples when she's flat on her back. We get to watch her breasts...Sideways!
Coyote Ugly
Oh, Coyote Wild. Is there any film in a bar more iconic than Coyote Ugly? This film brought us dancing on a bar more than any other film. So many beautiful babes played bartenders at this cool and sexy 90s bar. Even Tyra Banks was in the movie and she was carried off into a bar crowd after a wild night. Check out her cleavage as she has the time of her life!

The Big Lebowski
I have to include The Big Lebowski in here because The Dude abides by drinking. He loves to drink throughout the film, no matter what other hijinks happen around him. While Moscow mules are getting sipped, Julianne Moore plays a serious artist who does not take clothes seriously.
Beerfest
Finally, we have to include Beerfest because, duh, it has beer in the title. The name of the game is drinking in this wild comedy from 2006. Jay Chandrasekhar directed this film that was pitched as "Fight Club wit drinking games"...and boobs. Two brothers are on a mission to spread their grandma's ashes at Oktoberfest in Germany, but when they get there they start to have a little too much fun. Maybe it's what grandma would have wanted?
Simona Fusco shows her big breasts in a hot scene where she gives a lucky guy a topless smooch. This blonde bombshell really steals the show!
