2016: Deadpool
Four years ago today, we received this gloriously self-aware R-rated superhero movie, whose franchise's future currently hangs in the balance of the Fox/Disney deal. While many expected the film to do well, it was an enormous success, one of the highest grossing films of the year and the second highest grossing R-rated film of all-time (behind Mel Gibson's gorefest Passion of the Christ).The film's success has a lot to do with its timing, as well, as general audiences were so accustomed to superhero cinema by 2016 that they could easily enjoy the film's commentary on the genre's many well-worn tropes.

2016: Cabin Fever
One of the stranger reboots of the last few years was this fairly faithful remake of Eli Roth's 2003 feature debut, with Roth on board as a producer. Nadine Crocker steps into the role originated by Cerina Vincent, the girl of the main character's dreams. We see her get it on with her boyfriend just 15 minutes in, showing off herpierced pairas they switch positions...
She also bares TA while getting it on with the main character at the 69 minute mark (hilarious!)...
She dies a gruesome death with some skingoria I won't share here but can be found on the flick's page. Gage Golightly doesn't fair much better in the role originated by Jordan Ladd, but she doesn't go nude either, only stripping down toher underwear to go swimming...
1993: Untamed Heart
27 years ago today we came within a hair's length of seeing Marisa Tomei's first ever topless scene! Right on the cusp of her Oscar win for My Cousin Vinny, Tomei was headlining this romantic drama with a weepy ending, andMGM thought it would increase the film's box office prospects if they were to cut Tomei's topless scene and go from an R to the more teen friendly PG-13. Co-star Christian Slater was at the tail end of his teen idol stardom by 1993 and Tomei was a star on the ascent, so it makes sense from a business perspective to do this, but they deprived us of this scene for 14 years.
The scene faded into legend, one of those whispered about rumors that could never be substantiated. Then in the mid-aughts, the film turned up on European television with Tomei's topless scene intact. The then-43 year old had just appeared nude in Sidney Lumet'sBefore the Devil Knows You're Dead, but seeing her topless at 27 was equally revelatory! The scene has since been edited into the film and is available on most of the film's post-2007 disc releases...
1988: Action Jackson
Carl Weathers hoped to launch a franchise of his own with this action flick from mega-producer Joel Silver. Unfortunately, it didn't light the box office on fire, though it did well enough to make back its $7 million budget three times over. The franchise fizzled, much to Weathers' chagrin, but we did get a pretty solid flick in the balance, which isn't bad. Plus, it's got some great skin courtesy of Vanity and Sharon Stone!
In addition to having two songs on the film's soundtrack, the late Vanity gota primo role as mistress to Craig T. Nelson's crooked businessman villain. We first meet her character of Sydney Ash topless in bed with Nelson...
The same year she appeared as Steven Seagal's wife in Above the Law, Sharon Stone appeared here as Nelson's doomed wife. We get a nice look at her breasts in the sauna at the 34 minute mark, as well as a bloodier look 19 minutes later when her character turns up dead...
1982: Quest for Fire
Personal tangent time. This is the first movie I ever saw. Ever. My father had just gotten the film for our RCA SelectaVision and figured that his three year old son would be able to enjoy a film about cavemen where there's no dialogue outside of grunts and groans.If you've seen Quest for Fire, you know what an absolutely terrible decision this was on my father's part. The film opens with our hero band of cavemen getting attacked by a band of slightly less evolved cavemen, culminating in a brutally violent clash that only portends the equally gruesome violence to come.
In case you somehow still thought this was fit for a three year old, allow me to let you know that the film is also packed with sex and nudity. Animalistic, primal sex. Our heroic trio of cavemen on the titular quest run across Rae Dawn Chong, a member of a more advanced tribe that can create fire. Much like Khaleesi would later help Khal Drogo on GoT learn that sex can be pleasurable for both partners, so too does Tommy Chong's fully naked daughter teach these primitive men about good sex...
I've owned this film since the day it became available on DVD and this little trip down memory lane has me thinking that I now know what I'm watching tonight...
1982: The Beast Within
The original Dr. Carol Marcus, Bibi Besch, stars in this creature feature also released on this day in 1982. Bibi kicks off this monster horror flick with a skinsational scene where she bares TA while being attacked by a giant insect creature, only to be rescued by Ronny Cox...
History repeats itself later in the film when Katherine Moffat has a run-in with a creature in the woods at the hour and thirty-three minute mark, but she left the boob, buns, and bush-baring to a body double...
1982: One From the Heart
Francis Ford Coppola's first out-and-out financial fiasco was this 1981 musical that got bumped from the awards season rush of that year until this day 38 years later.Coppola employed cutting-edge (for the time) video effects to create the ultimate 80s musical experience, but the film is an utter disaster from beginning to end, with Coppola reaching for something, anything to hold on to thematically. The film's only saving grace is the always luminousTeri Garr. Anyone raised onYoung Frankenstein,Tootsie, or Mr. Mom eventually made their way to this movie because it has her only nude scenes...
They're both pretty fleeting, but again, it's the only place to see Teri nude...
