Let's take a look at yet another nude scene that was absolutely necessary to the film and discuss the gorgeous Gretchen Mol in The Notorious Bettie Page. She went nude for a very good reason in that 2005 flick!
The Notorious Bettie Page told the story of the ultimate pin-up icon, Bettie Page. Bettie is a fascinating creature and the film honestly only delves into her life's most interesting details a little bit. I have written about Bettie before, which you can read more in-depth about here. We are not here to talk about Bettie and her hot nude scenes.
We are here to discuss Gretchen in this flirty biopic where she pays homage to the busty babe who appeared in pinup magazines in the 1950s and 1960s. Gretchen actually looks a lot like Bettie and her delicious D-cups definitely look a lot like Bettie's. It almost makes you wonder if comparing their cans was part of the audition process! I know that has very little to do with the scene in question, but I am just letting my imagination run wild!
So let's talk about that scene. There is actually only one nude scene in the film which might be surprising considering how much nudity and sex are associated with Bettie. It might seem obvious, but Gretchen Mol had to be nude in this film in order to film scenes that did Bettie Page justice. What I mean by that is that she had to recreate Bettie Page's infamous nude photo shoots. The only way to do that was to go nude herself!
This scene consists of a sexy montage in which Gretchen recreated some of Bettie's most enamored photos. By "most enamored" I do mean "most jacked-off to". Sorry to be raunchy, but we all know that it's true! The photos were taken mostly by a female photographer played here by Sarah Paulson. You can watch the montage of breasts and bikinis here:
Of course, Gretchen is no stranger to nudity before or after this film. She went nude in Boardwalk Empire as well as in An American Affair, The Last Time I Committed Suicide, Forever Mine, and Attraction to name a few. Well, consider me attracted to her for all of her sexy scenes. Of all of those hot scenes, I am partial to Forever Mine, but she is definitely best known for portraying Bettie Page.
That being said, I would be remiss if I didn't show you her hot nudity in Forever Mine. In this steamy sex scene that feels like a classic 90s erotic scene, Gretchen shows her jugs when she is on her back in the missionary position. It is filmed slightly blurry, but that just makes us look even harder as we get harder watching her:
So let's get back to Bettie Page's biopic that Gretchen absolutely lit up! It's just one scene, but it's easy to see how necessary it was considering that her nudity is what Bettie was best remembered for. Necessary indeed!
