The daughter of an actress, Nina Hoss grew up wanting to be on the stage, and made her acting debut in the theatre at the age of 14. Graduating from drama school in Berlin, the German-born beauty made her film debut at age 21 as Marilli Kosemund in the 1996 film And Nobody Weeps For Me. Her next role became Nina’s skinematic debut, when she played the title role of Rosemarie Nitribitt in the TV movie A Girl Called Rosemary(1996) (German title: Das Mädchen Rosemarie), a promiscuous woman who tempts a wealthy business tycoon. In our favorite scene in the flick, Nina wears a blonde, curly wig and a leopard-print coat with nothing underneath—and we know this because she whips it open to display all her personal treasures in a full-frontal view of her furry triangle and chipper nipples. The Nordic beauty, standing at an impressive 5’11” with blonde hair, has numerous other credits on her CV, including as Charlotte in the film Naked (2002), a strange romp that also familiarizes us with Nina’s taut tummy, generous hips and special somethings; Jane in Atomised (2006); as Anonyma in Anonyma – Eine Frau in Berlin where we get another long look at her plump pretties; Barbara in the 2012 film of the same name, for which the lithe lovely plays her own piano parts; and in the 2020 TV series Shadowplay as Elsie Garten. Fluent in English, in addition to French and German, she also makes appearances as Astrid in the Showtime drama series Homeland from 2014-2017, Irna Frey in A Most Wanted Man (2014) with Philip Seymour Hoffman, and in Violence of Action (2021) with Chris Pine. Nina went to central Europe for her next role, landing a plum role as the President of the Czech Republic in Amazon's hit series Jack Ryan. No matter which dialect emerges from Nina’s come-hither lips, she’s always speaking to us in the language of skin—and we understand every word.
