The Terminator franchise has had lots of entries since Terminator 2: Judgment Day,and they've ranged from the dumb but fun T3to the borderline unwatchable Terminator Genisys. It's been a rollercoaster for fans, to be sure. Finally, series creator James Cameron has returned to the franchise as a writer for the first time since T2, withDeadpool's Tim Miller now handling directorial duties. The conceit withTerminator: Dark Fateis that the film is a direct sequel to T2 that ignores all of the sequels that have been made in the interim.

While that may sound likea low bar to surpassfor a franchise that has dropped the ball on a satisfactory conclusion three times now,but this isthe hip thing to do now with films like Halloween andThe Predatordoing it last year—to varying degrees of success. It's not certain if this gamut will pay off, but it's safe to say we're all glad to see Linda Hamilton back as Sarah Connor, kicking ass and all that.

The real breakout star here is likely going to be Mackenzie Davis, as this bad ass new human/cyborg hybrid we've never seen before in this franchise. She carries on the proud franchise tradition of nude time traveling, which is shown briefly in this new trailer along with her bare ass! Seems like things are back on track with the Terminator movies.

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1.
