We are all waiting for the new film Blonde which is set to be released on Netflix. That Marilyn Monroe biopic stars Ana de Armas and I cannot wait for it based on everything I've heard about the film from its approval by Joyce Carol Oates to its NC-17 rating. So imagine my surprise when I see that Netflix has dropped a brand new Marilyn Monroe movie. This time it's a documentary!
The premise of this film is to take yet another look at Marilyn's case. The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe is dropping later this month and it takes a look at Marilyn's reopened case with recorded interviews that have never been released. The documentary seems to hint at new information and possible coverups. Could we finally get real proof of that with this new documentary?! We will have to see!
I am personally skeptical about documentaries like that as I feel like real bombshells would have already been leaked to the press, but I will definitely watch it. Marilyn's life is endlessly fascinating - and sexy - and the trailer does look good. You can watch the trailer here:
It is interesting to me that Netflix has two Marilyn Monroe projects going on this year. Perhaps they have lost their faith in Blonde or maybe they are simply trying to hype more and more Marilyn interest. There is ALWAYS interest in Marilyn Monroe. She's an iconic figure whose popularity will literally never wane. That's great! She deserves it.
