Marrying into a royal family has long been positioned as a dream come true. And in some ways, it probably is - a lot of wealth, status, and privilege are part of the cush role. But honestly, it takes a special kind of person to sign up for a total lack of privacy, stringent expectations, and what likely means putting certain careers on the backburner. Meghan Markle, however, seems especially primed for such a gig.
She's best known both here at Skin and elsewhere for her starring role in Suits, but she's also a humanitarian. After graduating from Northwestern, she worked at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires. As if that wasn't enough success, she then started acting and landing big roles while still keeping up with charity work, UN work, and a full-blown lifestyle blog called The Tig. I'm exhausted and embarrassed (for myself) just writing all that, but WAIT, there's more.
She's modeled on Deal or No Deal. She designed a line of clothing. She's penned tons of essays about being biracial. She was married once before to a director. She's apparently a great cook who was roasting a full chicken when she got proposed to. And she's super hot:
