For today's Foreign Film Friday, let's go back to jolly old England for a pivotal film of the swingin' sixties. That's right! We're going to look at 1965's Darling which introduced us the gorgeousJulie Christie in the role that earned her a Best Actress Oscar...and the attention of Mr. Skin!
This black-and-white film directed by John Schlesinger took a stab at the celebrity culture of the day by focusing on a fashion model who looks back on her life. Julie Christie plays the model which is perfect casting. The spunky blonde babe knows how to fill out a bikini!
Julie wasn't necessarily plucked out of obscurity with this movie, but this certainly lifted her profile. The young actress had debuted in 1963's Billy Liar and absolutely charmed the pants off of English audiences. Is it any wonder why? Look at how perfect her ass is without pants.
One of the most memorable scenes in the film actually involves nudity which is always a winner in Mr. Skin's book. This scene is most likely what earned her awards as a distraught Julie Christie walks into her bedroom and has a fit. During her fit, she takes off her clothes. It's like we always say: the best way for a woman to get happy is to take off her clothes. At least, that's the best way to make us happy!
Julie then flings herself naked onto her bed to show some brief sideboob. We could watch the GIF of her falling naked onto her bed over and over again and, luckily, we can.
