Today's filmmaker for our Female Filmmaker series focuses on an ambitious woman who has made a name for herself as a writer and director worth paying attention to. In fact, she is doing more work than ever, so I think her career is only just beginning! Let's shine a spotlight on female filmmaker Mona Fastvold!
Mona Fastvold comes to us from Norway where the 37-year-old Oslo native has always circled the entertainment industry. She loves music, and has directed music videos, and was even previously married to a musician. But she's done a lot more than that - including directing some seriously sexy scenes.
She began her career in the late 90s as an actress and dabbled with roles in TV shows and films up until the 2010s when her career really started to transform. She branched out from acting into creating her own films and that is when her career really began to take off. She has written four screenplays and is credited with creating the story for the 2018 film Vox Lux.
Fun fact: she is currently in a relationship with the director of Vox Lux! She has two more screenplays currently in development.
In 2014, she directed her first film The Sleepwalker which made pants rise all over the place. This film featured a lot of underwear scenes from the leading actresses such as Stephanie Ellis and Gitte Witt. You can't sleep on these two babes popping off their tops and showing their small suck sacks.

In 2020 she directed The World to Come which was a bit of a departure from her other work because it was a lesbian period piece starring A-list beauties. Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterston have a lesbian love affair that allows us to peep their pairs.
The film is set in the 1850s, where two women become lovers behind the boring farmer husband's back. It makes sense when you look at Vanessa and Katherine. Who wouldn't want to have an affair with one of these ladies? The lesbian love affair causes them to pop out of their corsets and keep each other company. Forbidden love never looked so sexy.
Most recently, she directed three episodes of the mini-series The Crowded Room. This is a series based on the life of Billy Milligan, a man who suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder and was even acquitted of a crime due to his diagnosis. Tom Holland stars in this series set in 1979, but the women in the series are absolute stars.
