Our filmmaker for today's special Female Filmmaker series is an up-and-coming director who has only just started dipping her creative toes into films that show some skin. I really believe that she is only just beginning, so let's take a look at the one and only Kitty Green!
Where does Ms. Green come from? Kitty Green comes to us from Melbourne, Australia, and she began her career writing and making movies. She was most interested in telling true stories, especially of telling stories about women who haven't been given a voice. She gives a voice to the voiceless! I think she's only just begun giving a spotlight to the clothesless, too.
Kitty Green is rather new on the scene when it comes to directing narrative work. She got her start in documentary features and was behind some pretty important documentaries. She is very passionate about shining a light on sex work in Ukraine. Her very first flick was 2013's Ukraine is Not a Brothel. She followed that up with the documentary Casting JonBenet and The Face of Ukraine: Casting Oksana Baioul. She loves "casting" in these documentaries!
After directing all of that work, she was asked to direct a few episodes of the AppleTV series The Servant. She also directed the 2019 film The Assistant, but all of that was leading up to her 2023 thriller.
She directed her feature film The Royal Hotel in 2013 which was inspired by the 2016 documentary Hotel Coolgardie - she simply could not get away from her documentary roots. The film stars Julia Garner and Jessica Henwick as two besties who go to Australia on a backpacking trip. While they are there, they need some more money, so they ask for jobs at a saloon named The Royal Hotel in the Australian outback.
The outback can be a scary place which is what the girls quickly learn. The American babes soon meet some rowdy men, including the bar's owner, who make them start to question their decisions. Uh oh! What starts off fun quickly gets out of control.
Unfortunately, Julia and Jessica do not get out of control when it comes to taking off their clothes. They remain quite in control, but Alex Malone winds up showing her big bosom when it basically pops out of her top as she bends over and gets banged from behind in the living room. She sure is making herself at home. Her breasts are, too, because they bust out of her bra!

What is next for Kitty Green? I hope we see more sex scenes! We will all have to wait and see as The Royal Hotel continues to gather attention and acclaim on the festival circuit and beyond. In the meantime, we can all really enjoy watching the gorgeous girls who check in at The Royal Hotel. We like checking them out.
