The 2024 Oscars are an exciting one. 2023 was a great year for film - and a skintastic one! There were SO many great films with hot scenes. While not every hot movie was nominated, some of the Oscar nominees for Best Picture have truly hot nudity. Going by nudity alone, let's decide who the Breast Picture winner might be. The nominudes are:
Barbie
Barbie's nudity is lacking - which shouldn't be a surprise. The movie was meant to be a mainstream success - and it was. Barbie is the most financially successful of all of the nominees, but even Margot Robbie's hinted-at nudity isn't enough for us to consider this a winner. That being said, this is a great film for foot fetishists which is why I felt the need to talk about it.
Lovers of feet are often ignored by the Academy. It seems like it's only Tarantino catering to their desires. Well, director Greta Gerwig showed off Margot's feet in several scenes. So this one goes out to the foot fans!
Oppenheimer
Florence Pugh's nudity was the bomb. Sorry - was that in bad taste? I'm just excited because Christopher Nolan had GREAT taste when he cast and directed British beauty Florence Pugh as Oppenheimer's dark-haired lover who introduced him to poetry and socialism. The pair have sex, but they also have a long conversation while sitting nude in chairs. It is elegant and sensual all at once and Florence Pugh has never looked better.
Poor Things
Ah, Poor Things. No one holds a candle to the nudity in this film or the way that Oscar-nominated director Yorgos Lanthimos directed these scenes. The film itself is a feast for the eyes. The colors! The visuals! The costume! The cherry on top is the star: Emma Stone.
Actors who work with Yorgos Lanthimos love to return to him. He's that good of a director and he has included nude scenes in nearly all of his beloved films. Stone is no stranger to Lanthimos and she even made her nude debut in his previously Oscar-winning film The Favourite in which we saw a singular boob. She trusted him then and she trusted him again to take it ALL off in Poor Things. Now we've seen every bit of Stone!
Lanthimos said himself that after The Favourite, he was practically given a Hollywood blank check to do what he wanted. Poor Things was that movie!
Emma Stone plays a young woman discovering her sexuality and she does so by having sex - a lot. She even becomes a sex worker and the montage of her sex work is HOT. It's also hilarious. Lanthimos earns all the credit in the world for the way he portrayed nudity so casually.
And the Oscar should go to...Poor Things! Let's be honest: Emma Stone's nudity in this film is some of the best EVER.
I do want to give credit to other nominees with nudity such as Natalie Portman in May December which is nominated for Best Original Screenplay. Natalie, who also tends to cover up, lets some nudity slip in her sex scene in this fantastic film.
