When the Light Comes (1998)

A student looking for adventure impulsively moves in with an arctic trapper in When the Light Comes (1998). Ellen (Francesca Vanthielen) has the summer off from college, so she gets a job on a ship sailing around the Arctic Circle, where she catches the eye of sailor Robbert (Rick Engelkes). But the action is not interesting enough on the boat and Ellen jumps ship when they dock for supplies, convincing Norwegian trapper Lars (Joachim Krol) to let her stay with him.
