Art Neill and Jackie Neill, the married couple at the bloody heart of Video Violence ...When Renting Is Not Enough (1987), have just moved to the itty-bitty burg of Frenchtown, New Jersey, where Art's video store is already turning a pretty penny. Oddly, though, it seems that the whole town is gaga for porn and gore--there's no clamoring for family fare at this store. One morning, Art and his employee come across an unmarked tape that doesn't belong to them: It's a home video of two men slaughtering Frenchtown's old postmaster. Seems Mr. Zip didn't zip off to Florida to live the retired life after all! Art hightails it to the sheriff’s station, but when they return the tape is gone . . . and so is his clerk! The po-po poo-poo Art's tale of woe, so he and Jackie decide to snoop around town on their own. Video Violence is the real deal; shot on video, it looks and feels cheap in that way today's no-budget flicks can't fake.
