The addition or removal of definite articles in film titles is a good sign that a franchise has undergone a soft reboot. Fast and Furious (2009) is one of the most prominent examples of the latter, while DC Comics favors the former The Batman (2022) and, of course, The Suicide Squad (2021), a soft reboot of Suicide Squad (2016). Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn jumps over to DC from Marvel to bring us another tale of a rag tag group of misfits brought together to save the day, only this time, the misfits are real deal villains who are in it for themselves, not a group of roguish heroes. Viola Davis returns as Amanda Waller, a government agent who first came up with the idea for assembling a group of villains to perform dangerous missions with an implant in their necks that can decapitate them if they go off mission for any reason. Also returning for another mission is team leader Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Flash villain Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), and the always entertaining clown princess of crime Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), along with new recruits like Bloodsport (Idris Elba), The Peacemaker (John Cena), Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Ratcatcher (Daniela Melchior), and King Shark (Sylvester Stallone). Gone from this adventure are Margot Robbie's skimpy ass costumes from the first film, though we are treated to a scene where she attempts to free herself from some shackles and her dress rides up to show off her underwear! One look at the lovely and leggy Ms. Robbie and you'll blow a suicide WAD!
