The Sicilian (1987)

Adapted from the Mario Puzo novel of the same name, The Sicilian (1987) follows Mafia leader Salvatore Giuliano (Christopher Lambert), the infamous, real-life Robin Hood that banded together with a bunch of rough-around-the-edges dudes in an attempt to liberate 1940s Sicily from Italian rule in hopes of turning it into an American state. Ambitious! Salvatore garners up support for his movement by stealing from the rich conservative landowners and gives his lifted loot to the poor. As Salvatore becomes more popular, his ego really starts to swell, eventually causing a rift between him and the real muscle behind the movement, Mafia Don Masino Croce (Joss Ackland). And if you know you’re mob movies well enough, you should know what happens when you cross the Don. Between all the Mafioso bravado and hijinks, Barbara Sukowa manages to contribute all three of her lovely B’s in various scenes of undress. Now that Mr. Skin’s kind of slice!
