Whether or not the Mexican film The Obscure Spring (2014) cribbed its title from Luis Buñuel's That Obscure Object of Desire (1977), it definitely shares that classic film's love of eroticism and the nature of deception in romance. The film centers around a plumber named Igor (José María Yazpik) and a barista named Pina (Irene Azuela) who meet by chance one winter and share an intensely burning passion between them. However, they are both married to other people and resist the overwhelming urge to consume that passion right away.

As the long and dreary winter drags on, neither of them can shake the feeling that they're destined to be with the other, so they agree that by spring, when the frost thaws and the world begins its rebirth, they too will be rebirthed into a relationship with one another. Of course, it's not as simple as all that and as the actual spring draws nearer, they must decide if they want to throw their otherwise completely fulfilling marriages away for the prospect of something better, or if the smarter move is to keep their relationship clandestine.

The film is positively alight with passion, coming in no small part from the fact that the film boasts that the sex scenes between Irene Azuela and her co-star are completely real and totally unsimulated! Irene Azuela bares all in the flick, though strangely not during the sex scenes. Rather she goes completely nude to smoke a cigarette and stroll around her apartment! She also flaunts some terrific T'n'A when her man goes down on her! Good luck Obscuring your erection!
