The Island of Dr. Moreau (1977)

H.G. Wells’s classic novel survives another adaptation this time with Burt Lancaster as the titular Dr. in The Island of Dr. Moreau (1977). Andrew Braddock (Michael York) and another sailor wash up on the shore of an island after a shipwreck, but creatures in the woods immediately kill the other survivor. Andrew escapes that fate when he is rescued by Dr. Moreau (Burt Lancaster), a geneticist who lives on the island along with his beautiful young ward, Maria (Barbara Carrera). But the natives of the island are becoming increasing restless and when Andrew uncovers the true nature of Dr. Moreau’s work, he might just be the next one on the diabolical Dr.’s table.Barbara Carrera plays a genetically modified babe and while she doesn’t get nude, her skimpy island outfits show that she is pretty much the perfect specimen. She’ll make you want to change your jeans!
