The Blue Iguana (1988)

Right before most audiences were introduced to Dylan McDermott as Julia Roberts' blushing bridegroom in Steel Magnolias, the Waterbury, CT native had his first starring role in this panned spoof of private-eye movies from 1988. In it he plays Vince, a bounty hunter so broke he decides to help the IRS stop a twenty million dollar money laundering scheme through a crooked Mexican bank. The pressure comes from two IRS agents, played by Dean Stockwell and Tovah Feldshuh, who interrogate him in a dank, underground room. He’s blackmailed into the job, but we think it was Tovah’s ever-present pokies pressing into his back that really convinced him. At least, that's what really got our attention!
