Simple Passion (2020)

There’s nothing simple about Simple Passion (2020), also known as Passion simple. Based on Annie Ernaux’s 1992 autobiographical novel of the same name, the foreign flick centers around lustful Hélène (Laetitia Dosch). The French tart is a professor and divorced MILF who meets Alexandre (Sergei Polunin), a young Russian diplomat. While he’s stationed in Paris for several months, she finds herself drawn to his mind, personality and tattooed body. In other words, what begins as a mild crush during a chance encounter turns into a full-blown addiction as Hélène delves headfirst into a love affair with a married man who she has absolutely nothing in common with. Over the course of several months, their trysts get more and more serious — and more and more sexually adventurous.
