Silent Screamplay II (2006)

If Royce Allen Dudley’s B-horror vehicle Silent Screamplay II (2006) is any indication, the perennially popular Scream franchise encouraged a legion of fresh-faced imitators to follow in its meta-horror footsteps. A gory slasher with a decidedly self-referential bent, Dudley’s film is bolstered by a knife-sharp “screamplay” by writer Roman Mykytyn and convincing performances by leads Christopher Blacksmith, Johnny Keatth, and Amanda Wycoff. Of course, knowing what he does about genre conventions, Dudley would be crazy not to offer viewers the occasional glimpse of supple female flesh. Fortunately he delivers with gusto, coaxing screen goddesses Elina Madison and Denise Riley out of their confining costumes.
