Tennessee Williams gets another screen revival in Orpheus Descending (1990), an adaptation of his 1957 play, starring Vanessa Redgrave as an Italian immigrant trapped in a lousy marriage in Mississippi. Her problems aren’t helped by problems with Klansmen and crazed artist types, either. Fortunately, her dreary life is uplifted when charismatic stranger Kevin Anderson comes to town. Your crotch will be uplifted, too, thanks to Redgrave’s willingness to show off her fine Mississippi moon.
