The votes are skin! According to digital media poller Ranker, some of the most unlikable main characters from television are in nudity-heavy shows, so we’re highlighting all the list toppers who lost their tops!
****
These are the lead roles that could’ve led viewers away from watching, if not for other things like lovable supporting performances and interesting plot lines. Oh, and stripping down probably didn’t hurt either!
Lena Dunham Nude in Girls
The very first name on the list is Lena’s Hannah Horvath, described as both over-dramatic and self-indulgent in the worst ways. The only saving grace is that she seems to never miss the chance to get naked, even when it’s wholly inappropriate -like when she flashed her hole Basic Instinct-style at her boss.
****
Sarah Jessica Parker Sexy in Sex and the City
This is probably the most frustrating one because of all the characters on both the flagship series and And Just Like That…, Sarah’s the only one who’s never gone nude, save for a peek at her rain-soaked nips in Season 3. So not only is the narrative voice of the series Carrie Bradshaw a whiny, selfish, garbage person (to the point where it’s becoming a hot topic on social media), but she also left the audience-grabbing nudity to everyone else (especially the much more interesting opposing force that was Kim Cattrall nude).
****
Taylor Schilling Nude in Orange is the New Black
Third on the list is Piper Chapman, the over-privileged prison newbie at the center of this award-winning dramedy. At least she had the decency to break out her bare bosom every once in a while, especially during her steamy sapphic scenes.
****
Evan Rachel Wood Nude in Westworld
This one’s a bit of a stretch, with the website claiming that robot host Dolores Abernathy’s motivation within the series is hard to follow. The character may be under-developed, but the same can’t be said for Evan, who’s rack and rump are sure to have you sporting some Wood.
****
Honorable Mention:
Emilia Clarke Nude in Game of Thrones
The Ranker list puts Jon Snow as the default main character and also the worst, but we’d like to counter that - mainly because it’s really hard to single out anyone as the main character in this giant ensemble series - but also because we all know that the character writers Benioff and Weiss did the MOST dirty with the show’s incredibly disappointing last season was Daenerys. Obviously.
