There has been exciting breaking news...a few weeks ago, but I am getting to it now. Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore are cast in a movie together. Have you ever heard of anything hotter than that idea? The film is directed by Todd Haynes - the director of things like Carol and The Velvet Goldmine - so you know you can expect some sultry action!
Julianne Moore has already starred in several Todd Haynes movies. This would be her fourth! She has starred in Far From Heaven, Safe, and Wonderstruck. She is clearly a go-to for the director and it's not hard to see why. She's gorgeous and she is talented. She seems so nice and easy to work with as well. When a director says 'go nude', Julianne probably says 'how high?'. Wait, maybe I got that saying wrong. Julianne hasn't gone nude for Todd, but this plot sounds like that could change.
I should note that Natalie Portman's nudity is rather lacking. She has had a couple of nip slips in films like Closer and Friends with Benefits. She did famously show her ass in the Wes Anderson short film Hotel Chevalier which premiered before The Darjeeling Limited. That was an exciting moment because it was - and probably still is - her best nude scene.
The film that they are starring in together is called May December and it takes place twenty years after a tabloid romance gripped the world. The married couple at the center of that drama has to revisit it when an actress tracks them down to research for a film about their past. The movie already has Oscar buzz around it and no one has set foot on set yet.
Portman is to play the actress to goes to the coast of Maine to talk to Moore whom her movie character will be based on. It's a bit of a meta-sounding movie and it is also reportedly not based on real life. Moore's character was previously tabloid fodder for marrying a man 23 years younger than her. Portman visits the couple who are still married with teen children. Portman's presence really changes things around. Considering this s a Todd Haynes movie, I am inclined to believe some lesbian seduction might be on the table.
This is going to be interesting. On its surface, it sounds like a fascinating film. Knowing that these two are starring in it? I am already excited. No wonder there is already so much buzz about this film. I can't wait to see what the two of these shining stars do in this film. So far the movie has all of the ingredients to be great from the interesting storyline to the director to the super sexy stars.
