The Darjeeling Limited (2007)

Like The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun (2021), Wes Anderson’s quirkfest The Darjeeling Limited (2007) stars Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson, and Jason Schwartzman. The R rated flick has the three playing brothers Peter (Brody), Francis (Wilson) and Jack (Schwartzman) who are traveling by train through the Himalayas to track down their reclusive mother. As you might suspect, this isn’t your typical family trip — what with a dead dad, a blackmailing sibling, and a host of other issues to deal with. But at least mama is hubba hubba Anjelica Huston! Throughout the course of the twee story, the trio of bros hash out their family business while taking in the vastness of India. But things go massively wrong and eventually the dudes end up stranded in the desert. If you’re still reading, then this offbeat dramedy may have you beating. Indeed, we can think of one arousing reason and that’s Amara Karan. As Rita, the exotic ingénue makes her big screen debut by flashing her crackage at the 39-minute mark. But keep your finger on pause since the flesh flashed only lasts for five seconds. The ensemble pic also includes Natalie Portman, Camilla Rutherford, Irrfan Khan, Wallace Wolodarsky, and Anderson mainstay Bill Murray in a cameo role. Overall, the movie generated positive reviews and modest success at the box office. At the Venice Film Festival, Wes was nominated for a Golden Lion. But if we had our say, Ms. Karan would have been up for Mr. Skin’s Golden Snake!
