Review

Here at Skin Central, our viewing policy is “if there be nudity, we watch it” but we’ll make an exception for the TV movie If There Be Thorns (2014). The Gothic horror story appropriates elements from Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights”(1847) and Charlotte Brontë’s novel “Jane Eyre”(1847) and puts them into an updated setting. Based on “If There Be Thorns” (1981) by V.C. Andrews, the drama is the third in the author’s Dollanganger series which includes the bestseller “Flowers in the Attic” (1979) and its sequels “Petals on the Wind” (1980) and “Seeds of Yesterday” (1984). This time around, loving siblings Cathy (Rachael Carpani) and Chris (Jason Lewis) Dollanganger are grown and living as a married couple in a type of misguided bliss. In fact, Ms. Capani dons sexy skivvies to showcase her fit figure as her character gets busy in bed with her lover brother. But things take a dangerous turn when Chris and Cathy’s crazy mother Corrine Foxworth (Heather Graham) tracks them down. Since this is a Lifetime movie, there isn’t any actual nudity but the messed-up tale about a strange family gives home viewers a touch of high-class tail and some serious eye candy. Take Melodie (Emily Tennant). The blonde beauty seems like a song when she prances into the attic to have a little naughty fun. Indeed, she shows off her alluring undergarments when she and Jory Marquet (Jedidiah Goodacre) make beautiful music together. The scene is so hot, you may join in by beating off!
