Hamlet (Stageplay) (2002)

Great Nudity!

Review

Shakespeare’s tale of disaster in Denmark gets a nudity filled reworking in the German TV production of Hamlet (Stageplay) (2002). Hamlet’s (Philipp Hochmair) dad is dead and his uncle Claudius is banging his mother, Gertrude (Isabelle Menke), so he has plenty to be depressed about. But when the ghostly apparition of his dead father appears and declares that he was murdered by none other than Claudius, Hamlet really goes off the deep end. Of course it all comes to an inevitable and bloody end, but before it all goes to hell we get to see every heavenly inch of Queen Gertrude. There’s enough nudity to make any bard hard including Juliane Niemann baring mini-mams before she has to get thee to a nunnery. But Isabelle Menke becomes the Queen of our part by stripping down totally nude and strutting her super-sized suckers, muff, and duff across the stage. And that’s enough to have you doing a little soliloquy of your own.
