It’s Oscar-nominated filmmaker Wes Anderson’s birthday! The Texan-born titan of indie cinema has made a name for himself with storytelling trademarks like top down shots of hands holding objects, quirky pastels, dedicated use of the Futura font, and nostalgia-filled soundtracks. But why write about him here? Will Skin fave Scarlet Johanssen or Maya Hawke be putting the “ass” in Asteroid City, the director’s latest coming out next month? There actually is a chance, and to prove it, here are five films from birthday boy Wes Anderson that actually contain skintastic nudity:
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
After Tatiana Abbey broke the nudity seal going topless to make out with Gwyneth Paltrow in 2001’s The Royal Tenenbaums, this next Wes Anderson flick featured Robyn Cohen as Anne-Marie Sakowitz, a 25-year-old script girl for a famous oceanographer working on a documentary about the destruction of the jaguar shark that ate his best friend and chief diver, Esteban. The kicker is that Anne-Marie has a penchant for working without a shirt on, and we see Robyn’s rack numerous times throughout.

The Darjeeling Limited
This one has to be mentioned because it may have been missed, but the amazing Amara Karan secretly sneaks in her cheeks thirty-nine minutes into the 2007 film. If you look in the mirror behind her, you get a nice look at her butt while she encounters Jason Schwartzman.

Hotel Chevalier
The same year, and also with Schwartzman as a prologue for his Darjeeling character, Anderson made the short film Hotel Chevalier, which has a short-haired Natalie Portman showing up to his room and stripping down to display her derriere (and a bit of boobage) for some surprise hotel sex.

Moonrise Kingdom
Another flash of fun bag, this time from acclaimed actress Frances McDormand, who’s no stranger to showing skin. She shows off her Oscar-winning wonders from the side while washing her hair.

The French Dispatch
If his new film is anything like his last, we’re in for a nice helping of skin! The 2021 romantic dramedy had Anderson’s best nudity yet, including full frontal from nude model Léa Seydoux, and from Tilda Swinton (in painting form), plus Lyna Khoudri’s luscious cans while snacking naked with Timothée Chalamet.
