Diary of a Shinjuku Thief (1969)

Inspired by the youth-led counter culture and anti-war protests of the late 1960’s, the story centers on a young book thief named Birdie Hilltop (Tadanori Yokoo) who gets caught one day by a bookstore clerk named Umeko (Rie Yokoyama) and turned in to the store owner. Birdie and Umeko end up sleeping together and not only doe he continue to steal to get her attention, she ends up indulging in theft herself. As their relationship grows, the focus shifts from the thrilling sensation of committing crimes to intense sexual desire and satisfaction, leading them to seek out a famous Freudian sexologist. Rie, in her first ever role, strips down and gives us a flash of sideboob while sitting next to the bed post-romp. This film may be all about the five finger discount, but it’ll have you doing the the five finger shuffle!
