There might be other women named Diana in the history of the world, but once Diana Frances Spencer aka Diana, Princess of Wales, aka THE Lady Di, became "The Most Photographed Woman in the World", she became the one that everyone thinks about when you hear the name Diana.  She was born a "commoner" in the eyes of the British Royal family, but truth be told, she came from generations of Viscounts and Viscountesses who were closely aligned with The Queen Mum for years.  When Queen Elizabeth's heir apparent, Prince Charles began to look for a wife as he was the future king of England, Diana became the object of courtship in 1980, then they became engaged the following year, despite his age and previous relationship with her older sister.  It was a relationship that dominated headlines, altered the history of the English Royal Family, and ended in brutal tragedy that left the world shaken.  So of course, it's ripe for a musical interpretation to capture all the drama, intrigue, sadness, and happiness that comes along from director Christopher Ashley's Broadway play.  Brought to us by streaming service Netflix, we get to see Broadway mainstay, Jeanna De Waal, take on the titular role of the Princess of Wales, belting out the songs herself in the filmed version of the play before it even hits the stage, looking every bit as beautiful as the real Diana.  From her early years to her royal courtship, to her divorce, to her untimely death, we get a musical look at everyone's favorite royal, who stood for more than a title and was the people's princess.  Charismatic, charitable, stylish, and lead with her heart, she was an advocate for those who needed one and to put it bluntly, doesn't have enough songs written about her!
