Casting of Death (2015)

The German short film Casting of Death (2015) opens with a professor (Stefan Dittrich) explaining about a top secret military camera that was created using a built in lie detector function. The experiment went haywire and the cameras were recalled. We are then thrown into the world of model Anna—played by real life model and reality star Micaela Schafer—who thinks she's just booked an audition for a TV series that's sure to land her in the big time! When she arrives for the camera test, it's all rather benign with only a small crew assembled, including director Ben (Alexander Altomirianos) and his assistant Stefan (Marc Philipps). As she begins making cocktails, however, Ben notices that the footage coming through onto the computer is showing something else... namely that Anna is topless and he is up there mixing up cocktails with her. Soon, more malevolent footage begins coming through as well, with Stefan and Ben actually murdering Anna. Time and space begin to bend as the two men attempt to figure out how they got to the point of committing a murder and whether or not they'll be able to stop the inevitable moment from happening when it actually arises. The whole thing is very German, meant to be tongue in cheek yet that only makes it darker than if it were being sincere. At least there's a whole lot of topless action from the sensationally stacked Micaela Schafer, who shows off her bare pair in three different scenes! Casting of Death? More like Casting of Breasts, amirite?
