Bloody Mama (1970)

Roger Corman's brutal Bloody Mama (1970) stars Shelley Winters as Ma Barker, the legendary leader of a barking-mad bunch of criminals who just happened to be her sons. Ma's boys are Don Stroud, Clint Kimbrough, Robert Walden, and Robert De Niro, and there isn't a straight arrow among them. Bob De Niro's a real zero who loves drugs and sniffs glue; Don likes to do his ma; newly sprung jailbird Robby Walden brings home a cell sweetie—played by Bruce Dern—who also apparently likes to do the bed boogie with Ma Barker. Clint's a quiet sort, but he still goes along with the family's slay-together-and-stay-together ethos. Adding Don's trick-turning girlfriend to their gang, the Barkers set out on a spree of very bad behavior that builds to a blood-riffic finale.
