Between the Moon and Montevideo (2001)

In the Canadian curve-fest Between the Moon and Montevideo (2001), which features Canuck cuties such as Pascale Bussières and Kena Molina, space-aged citizens live in an abandoned mining colony created by a large asteroid. Aside from the sight of the Earth and the Moon appearing overhead consecutively and flaming rocks that fall irregularly onto the streets, the story is as old as the cavemen. In a society where the strong prey on the weak and the weak wallop the weaker, young Tobi (Attila Bertalan) is a loser of a scrap-metal collector who occasionally wins big in a bare-knuckled brawl. Knowing that the only chance of escape for himself and his women folk lies in the Russian rocket appearing each month outside the crater, Tobi lusts over lady luck at the gaming tables of the iron-handed ruler El Senor to earn the money to blast off to a better world of barer babes and ample opportunity.
